My name is T.J. Middlebrooks, and I'm a Business Administration student at Georgia Tech's Scheller College of Business. My concentration is on Strategy & Innovation, and I am pursuing a certificate in Entrepreneurship.
I am a proud, active member of the Georgia Tech community, and I'm currently serving as the President of the Beta Alpha Chapter of Theta Xi Fraternity. I'm also a Scheller Business Ambassador, where I previously held the position of Vice President of Marketing & Outreach. I love being involved in these organizations because they allow me to connect with others and make a positive impact on our campus.
I have gained professional experience as a Product Development and Strategy Co-op for Delta Air Lines, where I was able to develop and apply my creative problem-solving skillset to lead teams of co-ops and help align the division's strategy. This experience sparked my interest in corporate strategy by working cross-divisionally with various teams and focus areas within the company.
Additionally, I exercise my entrepreneurial side through freelance media work, having unique opportunities to create brand identities for multiple Atlanta-area businesses and provide photo and video services. In previous semesters, I have been a part of the creative media team for the Georgia Tech Athletic Association, a fantastic combination of my passion for athletics and all things creative — where I enjoyed contributing in various roles, including photography, graphic design, videography, and social media management.
Outside of my academic and professional pursuits, I enjoy traveling, exploring Atlanta, and spending time with friends and family. From waterspouts on the lake to time at the beach, I have always loved spending time on the water and, more recently, have taken a keen interest in sailing. I am also passionate about current events and stay up-to-date on all things related to national and local politics, new technology, and innovation.
This summer, I'm excited to be working in the Office of Governor Brian Kemp through the Governor’s Internship Program. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to serve fellow Georgians while also learning and growing professionally through my interest in government and passion for our state. LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST
PRESIDENT: THETA XI FRATERNITY
excerpt from my nomination for the Barry Breen Outstanding Undergraduate Brother of the Year Award
As the current chapter president of Theta Xi Beta Alpha, T.J. is working to transform the fraternity into a more united, cohesive community. When he was elected as president, he recognized some problems facing the chapter, including sometimes poor communication, decreasing engagement, and lacking leadership transparency, and he developed tangible solutions to address them.
T.J.'s leadership journey in Theta Xi began as the Design Chair, where he fostered on-campus engagement through digital promotional campaigns and t-shirt sales for events. He then served as Secretary, leading six committee chairmen and overseeing all internal and external chapter correspondence and national reporting, while simultaneously carrying out the duties of Public Relations Chair. He managed our chapter's award-winning website and social media (Theta Xi National Outstanding Communication Award), generating a 366% Instagram engagement rate increase since 2021.
As chapter president, T.J. set the tone from the beginning by leading the new Executive Board on a retreat to bond and develop a clear vision for the semester. He would go on this semester to set the example as a leader in his actions, being present at all events and showing involvement in committees, increasing brother engagement. He redefined chapter meetings’ discussion procedures to ensure that everyone's voices are equally heard and worked with the chapter's secretary to streamline digital communication methods by moving to Slack. Lastly, T.J. and the Executive Board now host regular, recurring, and open meetings to practically implement a more transparent leadership style. T.J. demonstrates great dedication to Theta Xi, and hopes to be a true friend to all brothers through his leadership position.
